灼熱の太陽の下、行き交う人々に「うったえ」を書いてもらった。段ボールにマジックで、縦書きで、とお願いする。
とかくこの世は生きにくい。とかく弱者にゃ理不尽だ。自分が弱者ではないと弱いものいじめに無言で加担やしていないか。いや、みんな弱者どうしの監視システムのなかに入れられてるだけ。
そして「うったえ」は自由だと言われても、何を書いて良いか。皆、戸惑っていた。自らプライベートな悩みはうったえにくいし、願いでも、祈りとも違う「うったえ」。これを個人主義の欧米で行ったら、違うだろうねと打ち上げで話す。
更に、この集まった言葉の断片は並べられ、一篇の詩になるというのだから。無意識に、それに合わせて書くようにもなる。詩って何だ？そういう場になる。
興味深く見てくださっている面々と、デモ行進をすることにした。会場の SLOW ARTCENTER NAGOYA は、名古屋市の中心の栄の、更に真ん中に位置していて、公園か集会所のようであり、その中だけで廻る。デモのお試しのような、遊戯のような、消費のような。ただ、最後は詩を声にした。喧騒にまみれながら、ビデオカメラでそれを撮影し、インターネットで世界中に発信する。わざわざ段ボールに書いたのは、言葉を「うったえ」にするためだ。

Under the scorching sun, I asked people to write “your appeal” as they passed by. I asked them to write vertically on cardboard with a magic marker.This world is a difficult place to live. It is unreasonable for the weak. I wonder if I am not silently participating in the bullying of the weak, if I am not the weak. No, we are all just put into a monitoring system of the weak.And even if you are told that “your complaint” is free, what can you write about? Everyone was at a loss. It is difficult to complain about one’s own private problems, and “your appeal” is different from a wish or a prayer. We talked at the launch about how different it would be if we did this in the West, where people are more individualistic.Furthermore, the fragments of words gathered here would be arranged to form a poem. Subconsciously, I also begin to write accordingly. What is poetry? That’s the kind of place it will be.I decided to hold a march with the people who were watching me with great interest. The venue, SLOW ART CENTER NAGOYA, is located in the center of Sakae, the heart of Nagoya City, and looks like a park or a meeting place, and we will go around only inside it. It was like a demonstration trial, like a play, like a consumption. But at the end, I voiced a poem. In the midst of the hustle and bustle, I filmed it with a video camera and transmitted it to the world via the Internet. I went to the trouble of writing it on cardboard because to make the words “your appeal.
